Fun Fridays

Dave has every other Friday off, and we try to do some fun activity as a family. The first Friday in August we went to the Ventura County Fair. We hadn't been to the Fair in years - I don't think the kids remember ever going. The day we went was a special "kids get in free" day, but we made up for it with the money we spent on ride tickets and sampling some carnival food. It was a fun outing.

Last Friday, we went to downtown Los Angeles to the California Science Center. I don't remember ever going here. I think we had been to the old Science Museum, before it was redone. Anyway, the kids had a blast! Ryan, who wants to be an inventor, was in his element. We saw a live demonstration of chemical reactions, and Julia was a volunteer for part of it. One of the demonstrations they did was the diet coke/ mentos explosion. The kids loved that! We spent 5 hours here, and Ryan wanted to go back the next day. By the way, the Science Center admission is free. Good times!

There She Goes

I sent Amber off to her first year of Girl's Camp! She was so excited. We will definitely miss her while she's gone!

This first picture shows all the first year girls.

This picture shows the young women who are going to camp, but does not include any youth leaders from our ward. (The youth leaders went up early.)
P.S. The girl in the front with bare feet is a younger sister, just in the picture for fun.
